Will there be a limit on how many small items a crafter can make?
Say that the crafter has an interest in making one item, not one for the whole herd like the shoes you mentioned. Maybe they want to impress a girl ( c; ), so they make a necklace. Would that only take like a week to craft?

I like the idea of each herd having different resources for trading and having them affected by the seasons. However, even though I like the Dragon Shell, Iron, Lightning Dust and Tree Sap, I don't think the Poppy Petals would be traded much because they aren't essential to roleplaying. The Cactus Juice sounds good but hunger and thirst isn't really something I see roleplayed often so that might not have much use either. Here are some suggestions which might help (or not, lol) Wood - World's Edge Since the unicorn's territory holds most of the wooded area, I think they could collect wood to trade for use as firewood or building material. The Frostfall description mentions that it gets really cold in the desert (Dragon's Throat) and the Foothills don't have much wood either, while the forest is blessed by the Goddess of the Moon. So survival, especially of foals or weak individuals could depend on keeping warm with fires. Sand - Dragon's Throat Sand could have a lot of uses in Crafting - making glass, creating bricks and mortar, paint, building fortifications etc. I also thought having something for the Healers might be nice too. Chamomile (better name? lol) - World's Edge Has many medicinal purposes and can be made into a tea or poultice. Helps with healing cuts, scrapes and abrasions and reduces swelling and pain. Can also be used for easing digestive problems, anxiety, stress and sleep problems. Dragon's Blood - Dragon's Throat Resin from the Dragon Tree. A cure for respiratory & gastrointestinal problems as well as a coagulant and fever treatment. Can also be used as a dye. (I got the idea from a wiki article - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon%27s_blood xD) Sorry I didn't suggest anything for the Foothills but I ran out of ideas ^^;;

I'd say any personal things a crafter wants to make would follow the same guidelines as anyone else, needing all the raw material. Just like other characters crafters would get x amount of traded items every season and could then go on to trade for them. Being the crafter they could even charge additional materials whenever anyone wants them to make something.
also I love all those ideas! I still personally like the petals and the cactus juice :x just because they have alchemy properties which people could use, and because /realistically/ food and water are things people should worry about. I mean, really all of these traded items are not very important, since in rp world what matters most is things like magic, but the idea is to make these traded items valuable and instill this sense of usefulness and necessary use. But I see what you mean, that we could have more useful things.
I really like the dragons blood being a dye and a stomach calmer and fever reducer.
The only problems I foresee with the sand and wood is we have no crafters for those types. I guess sand is stone, rubs chin, and sand can be made into glass, but I also think sand is not a choice trade item over other things the throat has to offer, that and sand can be found elsewhere in helovia, or maybe by blowing up rocks. Wood I only see being useful for fuel, at least without a crafter to shape it into anything, which even then I think metal is more useful for that? As for fuel though the dragon shells do something similar, so we'd either do the shells or the wood, but not both?
The chamomile is also awesome, and might be more useful than the glowing dust?

ALTHOUGH
I think a crafter could make unlimited small things using the natural resource of the land. Also say the jewlery, well steel is what's traded not like, silver or platinum, so a crafter could just go find their own silver and then make the kewlery without having to give up iron.

Kewelry. rofl. Awesome typo.
Yeah, I don't mind that. Would give people some freedom, since I don't think they would put jewelry or decoration before armor. xD

I like Dragon's Blood better than Cactus Juice, but I like them both. :U Also like chamomile, but I feel like it could be grown in the Foothills as well, and would be more useful than Poppy Petals, as funny as it would be to see horses strung out on petals. Plus, I really like the idea of Lightning Dust.
