:: HELOVIA RULES ::
Helovia is © Schwartze.deviantart (Tamme) & Sychoblu.deviantart (Blu) 2012 - Present
Helovia is a mythical horse role play site that involves: member-designed magic, bondable companions, frequent fighting between characters and invasions between regions. These are just options and activities offered in Helovia and no member is required to participate in all or any of them if desired.
This site is intended for mature users and it is recommended that anyone joining be at least 13 years of age or of equal maturity level.

GENERAL RULES
these are the only rules you need to read before joining
1. Respect everyone. Don’t insult people’s posts or artwork, don’t flame their rants or suggestions. Just be nice. If you have any problems with someone, handle it privately and seek out an admin's assistance.
2. Power Playing and God Moding are not allowed unless the character’s player specifically gave permission before hand. Make a note in your post if such is the case.
✗- Power Playing is when you take control of another character’s actions within your post. This is usually done without permission and is most common in fighting. You cannot decide what another character does, that is always their decision. I.e. If you write “George bit Paul’s ear off.” George is then power playing. Instead write, “George aimed a bite at Paul, hoping to rip his ear off.”
✗- God Moding is similar to power playing, except you are controlling elements around you to your advantage. I.e. If you write, “George saw Paul fall and then witnessed a lion come out and bite him.” That is God Moding, unless Paul had said in his post that a lion did come out and attack him.
✗- Another form of God Moding is having your character know outside information or information they as a character wouldn't know. You as the player will know everything, but your character has to experience and gain the knowledge by posting and playing in character. For instance, knowing names of characters before meeting them, past events your character weren't present for, conversations your character wasn't a part of. Unless you posted saying "I watched the meeting from the distance..." or you talked to a character in a thread and they told you about it, don't assume it's common knowledge. If you want, you can always PM members to see if it's okay to say you recognize them, or if you can know something for plot purposes. If you're confused or uncertain, pm an admin.
3. Claiming post spots is not allowed. When you claim spots, the thread is held up to wait for you, often stopping other members who can post at the time from being able to reply. If you want to post soon or join the thread, pm the member(s) and they might wait for you.
✗- Respect the posting order of a thread unless the original poster has requested otherwise. I.e. Member A posts, Member B posts, Member C posts, and continuing in this order, not having Member B post every time someone else has. If a new member joins the thread, the cycle includes them.
✗- Posting order can be broken and someone skipped if more than 48 hours have passed waiting for a reply. This applies only in Helovia's Threshold or with threads relative to a sitewide plot, as often many members are involved or it is time sensitive.
4. Although this site encourages all levels of writers, we ask for a 100 word minimum with posts. If you need help with your role playing skills
feel free to ask an admin. Members of the site may also be willing to help. We're all here to enjoy rping and expand our abilities :]
5. You cannot join a character with magic or a companion, these must be earned by their various methods through role playing. You can also check the Adoptables page, as often one of those characters may have magic or a companion.
✗- Every 2 months, or start of a Helovia season, a magic slot becomes available on the site. The first to respond to the thread is able to join a character with a magical ability.
✗- You can join a pegasus or unicorn character with odd markings or colors, but they should not encompass the whole body and should have admin approval before play. Equines retain normal coat colors, but may join with one odd color or small marking.
6. You cannot join the site with a hybrid character. Hybrids are characters that are part equine, or a combination of the horse species (unipeg). You may only join as an equine, unicorn or pegasus. Though not recommended, you may also join as a close relative of the horse, such as miniature horses, donkeys or zebras.
✗- Every 4 months, or Birdsong and Orangemoon season start, a hybrid slot becomes available on the site. The first to respond to the thread is able to join a hybrid character.
7. Tables and pictures may be used in posts, but must be credited for the stock used. Avoid changing the font color of your posts unless you are using a table, as the layout of Helovia will change, possibly making your font color unreadable on the new site background.
✗- If the images in your pictures are copyrighted material they will be removed from your posts if you will not remove them. This could also result in a suspension if you refuse to comply.
8. Each account you make is specific for the character. The account name is the character's name and there can only be one character per account. You do not need to wait for approval to begin role playing, unless you had a question for an admin regarding your character's design following the rules.
ISILME CROSSOVER RULES
Isilme and Helovia have parallel timelines and exist on the same globe. As such, certain rules need to be followed to maintain realism and fairness for both sites. For characters travelling between Isilme: Anarore, please pay attention to these rules.
1. Your magic, companions and items will move across the site, but keep in mind that some of them will not.
✗- Isilme will not acknowledge the power of amulets or economy items.
✗- Helovia will not acknowledge temporary magic or markings.
2. If you recieve magic or a companion on either site, you must stay and play on that site and participate for at least one season (two months). Once those two months are up, your character is free to crossover sites.
3. You must spend at least one month exclusively with one character on one site at a time. Your character cannot be in two places at once!
4. God titles/Legends and victory points transfer onto both sites.
