[atrb=width,410] a p p e a r a n c e breed; American Saddlebred eyes; brown mane; black, partly white from the base coat; chestnut (sorrel) tobiano facial markings; star, strip and snip horn; very long, curved backward, pure white, glows slightly red when using her magic markings; -- tail; bit of white at base, flows to red p e r s o n a l i t y curious; introvert; remorseful - resilient; adaptable; compassionate h i s t o r y Hikaru hails from a religious herd where colour and markings are believed to be signs from the Gods as to what role the horse should play in life. Being born with the colours red and white, which symbolised the purifying fire, Hikaru was chosen along with other foals coloured similarly to become Guardians of the herd. Their job would be to keep the herd safe from wolves, large cats, and other predators that lurked in the night, which the herd's religion believed to be evil spirits. Those chosen started their training early, being charged with protecting their fellow foals from harm, with only one adult Guardian supervising. The training was a harsh introduction to life, Hikaru found, as those lacking power of magic quickly died in the line of duty, the adult Guardian merely looking on without emotion. When Hikaru questioned their reason, the answer was always, 'it is the will of the Gods that the unworthy are extinguished - they are too weak to serve the Flame.' Hikaru and six others survived the training and joined the rest of the adult Guardians in their duty. Day after day, Hikaru's routine remained unchanging - during the night she would take her shift and then, after drinking and eating, she would sleep through the day, merely waking to take the next shift and repeat the cycle again. Before she had noticed, two years had passed in her dull existence. One day Hikaru was observing the normal members of her herd and she noticed how different they were to the Guardians, so free and happy as she had once been before joining the ranks of the adult Guardians. Realising she was becoming as hardened and emotionless as the adult Guardians who let so many of her caste-mates die, she soon abandoned her post. Knowing her herd would be too afraid to break their religious beliefs, she escaped to the north - the direction of Water - and found Helovia. o t h e r magic; Fire x Light : The ability to summon small fire spirits, usually in the form of life-size foxes or serpents, that can move through the air. They move independently of Hikaru's will but they will always obey her when she asks. Only Hikaru can touch them without being burned unless she gives permission, however when small they only burn on contact and give off an ember-like glow. If they combine however, their flame becomes stronger and they can set fire to things just by being near. Hikaru can control if their flames will burn or not. Limited to 4-8 at a time, depending on their size, if a few combined, distance from Hikaru's body, distractions such as in battle etc. Battle limits ; Up to 4 summons, can be controlled for one post, even if this extends into the next post, and have the ability to cause burns to your opponent anywhere they may touch. May also temporarily blind your opponent if they look directly at the flames. |
