RANKS
Ranks in Dragon's Throat are mainly organized to benefit the Order of the Sun, but it is not required to be a member of the Order of the Sun to live in the Dragon's Throat or achieve a rank.
~ All members are expected to answer herd meetings
~ All members are encouraged to frequent Helovia's Threshold
~ All members are encouraged to reply to wanderers entering the herd
~ All members except prisoners and the scorched can quest at the Veins of the Gods
~ All members except colts/fillies/prisoners/the scorched can use the Stealth Board to create steals
~ All members except colts/fillies/prisoners/the scorched can breed in the Secret Grove
~ All members except colts/fillies can fight in invasions
THE RAY :: The leader of the herd and highest rank [Govern class]
~ Ultimate deciding force over any decision or issue. Should not be openly contested
~ Figure head of the herd that takes the repercussions for any actions made by the herd
~ Charged with the health and safety of the herd
~ Able to answer challenges to the herd
~ Able to block steals
~ Rank can be challenged for
~ Held by one character
~ Do not make eye contact with
THE FLAME :: second highest rank [Govern class]
~ Charged with overseeing completion of tasks and laws ordained by the lead
~ Oversees alliances and trading
~ Deals extensively with diplomatic relations and public view of the herd
~ Can assemble the herd in absence of the lead
~ Frequently positioned at the Veins of the Gods to speak the word of the Sun and promote prayer and asking to the Sun God's shrine
~ Able to answer challenges to the herd
~ Able to block steals
~ Rank cannot be challenged for
~ Held by one character
SUN PHYSICIAN :: high rank within the herd [Mend class]
~ Provides care to the sick and wounded, priority being to the herd
~ Rank ability provides healing through breathing white hot flame onto wounds.
~ Can only heal 5 members during an invasion
~ Can only heal 3 members during Frostfall
~ Accompanies the lead with diplomatic affairs
~ Provides council to the lead and any members needing advice or company
~ Meets with healers of other herds to spread knowledge and understanding of the skill
~ Rank cannot be challenged for
~ Held by one individual [admin appointed]
THE SEND :: high rank within the herd. Name short for The Heaven Sent [Fortify class]
~ Military force of the herd. Led by a member called the High Send, which is a title rather than a separate rank
~ Defend the borders of the herd to invasions, challenges or wanderers
~ Acts as the police force of the herd, ensuring all members are doing their duties and following the laws and customs set by the lead. Are permitted to act with force and should report any crimes to The Flame or The Ray, usually receiving a reward for such.
~ Should spar with someone at least once every two months
~ Rank can be challenged for
~ Held by multiple characters
DAWN RUNNERS :: high rank within the herd [Sneak class]
~ Stealth force of the herd. Led by a member called the Dawn Fire, which is a title rather than a separate rank
~ Gather intel on the other herds by any means, though should avoid detection
~ Should steal someone once a month
~ Able to block steals
~ Rank cannot be challenged for
~ Held by multiple characters
DIVINER :: middle rank within the herd [Create class]
~ Able to see parts of the future through images that appear in fire [admin answer fire seeing]
~ Must tend a constantly burning fire near the oasis
~ Provide tales and stories to the herd
~ Watch over the young of the herd if needed
~ Assist the Sun Physician when asked or needed
~ Rank cannot be challenged for
~ Held by one character
FORGER :: middle rank within the herd [Create class]
~ Able to craft and manipulate metal using telekinesis and the Diviner's fire
~ Cannot be burned by fire
~ Can create one large item for the herd every season turn
~ Rank cannot be challenged for
~ Held by one but can have multiple characters
THE LIGHT :: basic rank within the herd [Begin class]
~ Starting rank for a member of the herd, consisting of stallions, mares, colts and fillies
~ Expected to be the main collection force for natural resources to be traded
~ Should try to steal and spar periodically
~ Should try to visit the Threshold and respond to wanders in the herd often
~ Rank cannot be challenged for
~ Held by multiple characters
PRISONERS :: low rank within the herd [Begin class]
~ Captives from another herd or the wilds
~ Can only post within the herd land
~ Must wait one week after being taken captive to escape, challenge or be rescued
~ May join the herd at any point if desired
~ Held by one or multiple characters
THE SCORCHED :: lowest rank within the herd [Begin class]
~ Act as servants or slaves to members of the herd
~ Charged with ensuring the herd grounds are clear of waste
~ Must prepare or find food for the herd
~ Cannot lawfully spar, breed or steal
~ Typically held by members with dark coats, Moon God magic or criminal nature
~ Rank cannot be challenged for
~ Held by multiple characters
