At the end of each month, all posts made by herd members during that month are tallied and listed. Whichever herd has the highest post count is the herd champion for that month. If a herd has taken a prisoner, the prisoner's posts count towards that herd. Winners of the herd champion may place the icon on their herd page for the duration of the month, and will be granted a prize to the whole herd.
