I was contemplating this the other day when I was putting together the final touches on my herd meeting post and realized that, right now, each herd/species might have certain differences but never has it had, even before, a specifically defining culture. Like, as an example, the Unicorns/World's Edge would be known for, say, science and mechanical structures. The Equines of the Foothills known for masonry/architecture and the Throat for both battle and history.
Or even just saying that the Unicorns tend to be refined + snobby/think themselves highly intelligent, the Equines are down to earth and simplistic(don't boast about being smart), and the Pegs are add/dorky but smart. Idk. But you get my point by now.
But what I was thinking is that we could make, along with the trading stuff, foal schools which each herd would have the better of. Like I said, each herd could specialize in knowledge of something. Either in an official manner or unofficial one. Don't take this super seriously, just a random idea I was throwing about.
Like, for example, in the Foothills, I'm thinking of making an unofficial school where horses of each discipline, diplomacy/leadership, scholars/merchants, and warriors would offer themselves as mentors to apprentices, but how good the mentors are depends upon their knowledge, so some will be better than others, and therefore, some will have a higher demand/more pristige. Like foals would say, "Oh, score, you got __ for a mentor? They're like the best!" if you see my drift. It might be too complicated for an actual thing but would be fun if we could pull it off.
Heck, we could even make it a little mini "golden age" because theres so much peace right now. -shrugs- I'll stop rambling now. haha, but just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on that?
